The Lumen Prize Call for entries

The Lumen Prize is an international award that celebrates the very best fine art created digitally. Our goal is to focus the world’s attention on this exciting, emerging genre of fine art through an annual juried competition that finds the very best examples of digitally-created art and then tours this work at selected galleries and venues globally.

Entry for The Lumen Prize Exhibition 2013 is now open.  Please click here to get started.

The judges will be looking for digitally-created works of exceptional merit and originality. These may be 2D or time-based and may incorporate digital painting and drawing apps or techniques used to create graphic design, illustrations and/or animation. Entrants may also use CGI and/or moving-image software to produce 3-D and/or interactive time-based works with or without sound.

Photography is permitted where digital photo-manipulation is an intrinsic part of the work. Work must be created, at least in part, on tablets, digital cameras, smartphones or computers. Traditional work can be part of the creative process, but the output must be digital rather than physical.

What is the Lumen Prize Exhibition?
An international award and global exhibition that celebrates the very
best fine art created digitally.
Why a prize for digital fine art?
To focus the world’s attention on this exciting genre of fine art
created with cutting-edge technology around the world.
Please define digital fine art.
It is work incorporating digital painting and drawing apps, graphic design, illustration techniques

Yes, we welcome both of these kinds of work. Please refer to our home page “Tips for Entering” for
more details.
What kind of equipment can artists use?
Work must be created, at least in part, on tablets, digital cameras, smartphones or computers.
Traditional work can be part of the creative process, but we do not accept digitised versions of
traditional work.

How do I enter?

to enter as many times as they like – there is no limit to the number of entries by a single artist.
