TENTERPLAY – a survival camp for artist-led practice.
Hand in Glove present:
“Like INTERPLAY but in tents”
Saturday 8 / Sunday 9 June 2013
Castle Cary, Somerset
Following on from INTERPLAY in November 2012, Hand in Glove invite you to attend Part 2: TENTERPLAY -a survival camp for artist-led practice.
At TENTERPLAY we hope to reignite conversations started at INTERPLAY and encourage future dialogue between artists and artist-led groups, projects, spaces and arts initiatives. We also want to facilitate a platform for more in-depth critique of artist-led practice; its strengths, its failings and the challenges we all face in making this kind of activity happen.
We asked people that came to INTERPLAY what format they would like Part 2 to take and an adventurous majority asked for a road/camping trip. Luckily, we know someone with a farm in Somerset who is willing to open the gate to about thirty artists/creative practitioners so we accept the challenge and would love for you to join us.
It will be fun and informative, sociable, intriguing and unforgettable.
TENTERPLAY is a free event. Hand in Glove will of course welcome any donations to help with the running costs but we don’t want to make it more difficult for you to attend.
TENTERPLAY will be happening on a farm in Castle Cary, Somerset. The exact address and directions will be sent to everyone that books for TENTERPLAY, however will not be made public on the internet. There is a railway station in Castle Cary so we encourage travelling by public transport or lift-sharing.
Both tents and camper vans can be pitched onsite. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Chemical toilets and a vegetarian dinner on Saturday 8 June will be provided by Hand in Glove but all other provisions and special requirements are your personal responsibility. In addition to site directions we will also send a list of things we recommend you pack eg. your toothbrush.
