W-CA are pleased to announce our selection panel for the next W-CA open call exhibition.
The W-CA Landscape Photography Open launches on Monday 19th August..
How is landscape as a genre represented in critical contemporary art? And does a collection of landscapes re-enforce stereotypical notions of non-progressive, conservative or figurative art practice in rural towns and provincial cities?
Our selectors are:
Paul Seawright, Dan Holdsworth, Richard Billingham, Pete James, Jem Southam and Ivan & Heather Morison.
The W-CA Contemporary Landscape Photography Open is open to all national and international artists and photographers over the age of 18. All work must be original, and completed since 2010. Please note that if your work is selected you will need to make sure you can get it to the gallery on the specified dates.
All photographic work is eligible for entry, however the exhibition organisers reserve the right to refuse work which it deems as unsuitable for inclusion into the gallery exhibition. Work cannot exceed 70in (180cm) in any direction (inclusive of frames and packing). Entries requiring special installation or electricity should include details in the notes section of the entry form. All artwork which require mains power should be PAT certified. There is a limit of six entries per artist.
