Salisbury Arts Centre Open Exhibition 2013: Drawing
Opening night Wednesday 2nd October 18:30 until 20:30
Exhibition continues to Sunday 10 November
Think you’ve see all there is to see when it comes to drawing?
Artists working in all media and at all stages of their careers were invited to submit work for Salisbury Arts Centre’s 2013 Open Exhibition. This year the focus is on an expanded definition of drawing and sets out to examine the process and purpose of this fundamental artistic technique. Our panel selected the works they considered most searching, powerful and accomplished. The drawings will be shown in the unique setting of Salisbury Arts Centre and the most popular (by public vote) will receive a cash prize.
The works span a wide range of media from those using traditional methods of pencil on paper, to animation with laser lines and drawing fragments contained in ice.
The exhibition will be launched with an Opening event on Wednesday 2 October from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Our selectors Meryl Ainslie and Mike Griffiths will talk briefly about the selected works and contemporary drawing practice.
