Old City Residency Project
The Old City Residency 2015 – August 3 – 28
Centrespace is delighted to present their first-ever funded project. A month-long residency and exhibition has been awarded to multi award winning artist Beatrice Haines. Beatrice has been invited to create a contemporary response to the Old City, the medieval heart of Bristol that surrounds the gallery. The purpose of the residency is to inspire new work that will explore the old city, as designated in the Walled City Walk map, to create interplay between the gallery and the world outside, bringing a fresh interpretation of the area to the public.
Beatrice will be using the gallery as a temporary studio space throughout August. There will be two ‘open studio’ days when she will share the progress of the project with the public:
Wed 12 August 12 – 5pm
Wed 26 August, 12 – 5pm
Old City Residency Exhibition – September 4 – 16
Preview: Friday 4 September, 6.00 – 8.30pm
Open daily: 11am – 6pm
Following her residency in the gallery during August Beatrice shares with the public a thought provoking contemporary and alternative vision of the Old City with an invitation to delve into the multi-faceted urban world of the Old City streets.
