New Bloods Platform: Open Call for Artists
In Between Time in partnership with Leeds Beckett University, University of Chichester, and the University of the West of England are seeking 6 live works from emerging artists to be presented as part of IBT17’s New Bloods Platform.
New Bloods is committed to supporting emerging artists who engage with live practice and employ an experimental approach to process, form and audience. We’re seeking artists in early stages of their development who are working in emergent artforms. We want bold and inquisitive makers with urgent voices and stories to share; keen to test the boundaries of what a live experience can be and who it is for.
New Bloods Platform is part of IBT’s wider commitment to supporting artist development and sits alongside the Wild Card Award, an open-call commission and touring award for an established UK artist, and The Student Awards, a new prize given to 3 promising UK art students from Leeds Beckett University, University of Chichester and the University of the West of England.
What are we looking for?
•UK based artists working across performance: live art, dance, digital, sound and visual art; staged, durational, one to one, sited.
•Artists with 3 years or less professional practice. The opportunity is open to recent graduates or artists who have had limited opportunities to show their work publicly.
•Up to 6 existing or new works (at a middle stage of development) to be presented as part of IBT17’s New Bloods platform (8-19 February 2017), adaptable to other locations. (If the work you are proposing is new, we want to see how you are able to develop this work with the appropriate support in time for February 2017).
•Work that can be presented within the £500 budget.
What is on offer?
•An inclusive fee of £500, plus accommodation during IBT17.
•Presentation of selected work in IBT17’s New Bloods Platform.
•Producing, marketing and technical support.
•Inclusion in a dedicated programme of networking events at IBT17.
Application deadline: 12 midnight, 17 April 2016
Successful applicants will be informed by: week of 9 May 2016
