www.eastbristolcontemporary.comWe are particularly interested in hearing proposals from emerging artists in the first 10 years of their career and who may work with moving image that also incorporates installation or 2D or 3D or performance elements.
There will be one or two enclosed box spaces for showing projected works, and space for television or monitor set-ups elsewhere in the gallery.
Selected works will be shown in the ebc007 exhibition, and artists will receive a modest artist fee (will not include travel or expenses), and negotiable support with logistics, and aid with accommodation.
Works will be selected by ebc and Bristol based artist Laura Phillips. Phillips will also present a new work in the show.
To be eligible for the exhibition artists must –
-Have signed up to the ebc membership scheme http://eastbristolcontemporary.com/support/become-a-member/
-Be available to travel to Bristol for the entirety of the 3 days
set-up Friday 2nd 9am – 7pm, exhibition opening event
exhibition continues Saturday 3rd 10 – 5pm
exhibition continues Sunday 4th 10 – 5pm, de-install from 5pm
Application should include-
-Artist name, website, contact details, location
-Membership scheme submitted name and email address (submissions without will not be considered)
-Date of Birth
-Graduation year (if applicable)
-Brief bio (200 words max)
-Proposal of how to show work (300 words max) this section could include possible use of space around the moving image work if relevant to the work and could include proposal for installation/sculpture/dressing of cinema box space.
-Brief statement/synopsis on moving image work submitted (Optional) (200 words max)
-Brief statement on practice (Optional) (200 words max)
-Link to one submitted work (vimeo or youtube)
-Any images of previous moving image work in situ that will aid your proposal
