St. Georges, Bristol
Ever wondered what its like to work in the arts? Come and meet Bristol’s top female arts leaders and discover more about working in film, theatre, performance, art and digital media.
To mark International Women’s Day, we have come together with twelve of Bristol’s arts and culture organisations to offer 100 young women and girls (13-25), the opportunity for four 15-minute mentoring sessions each over a one-hour session.
This event has been designed for girls and young women to hear from leaders who are breaking down job gender stereotypes through diverse career paths and their aspirations for the future.
To find out more about how to book a place, please contact Letty Clarke at Letty.Clarke@arnolfini.org.uk who will be pleased to send you a booking link.
This event forms part of the national Inspiring Women campaign which aims to get women pledging one hour a year to talk to girls about their careers. It launched in October 2013 and has nearly 24,000 amazing women ready to talk with girls in state schools about the ‘job they do’ and route they took. The campaign aims to see these women from a wide range of occupations going into state schools collectively talking to 500,000 young women.
On 23 April 2015, Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall hosted ‘Inspiring Women in the Arts’ in partnership with BAFTA. 170 high profile women representing a wide range of careers in the arts did career speed networking with 850 state school girls. You can see photographs from the event here
